Merit Award – Merrimack Valley Camera Club

I am a member of the Orillia Camera Club which is a very involved club with internal photo competitions as well as instructional nights.  Back in December our club was invited to enter a photo competition run by the Merrimack Valley Camera Club which based in North Andover, Massachusetts.  In the past, the Merrimack Valley Camera Club has hosted images for their George W. Glennie Memorial Nature Salon from approximately 100 camera clubs in 4 countries.  Awards are presented to the entering club and individuals so I thought I would enter a couple of my favourite Warbler images.   This year there was representation from 91 clubs in 8 countries including several from Canada.

Earlier this evening, I was very pleased to learn that my image of a Prairie Warbler earned the Merit Award and will be in the upcoming slideshow which will contain all the award winning images and images “accepted” into the salon.  To be accepted into the salon slide show, the image must be among the top 1/3 of all images based upon score.

Here is my winning image, complete with spider-web.  Since the competition rules stated that nothing was to be removed from the image, I will never know if the spider-web helped the image or not.  Thanks for your continued support!

Superb image Arni and congratulations on the Merit Award which you are most deserving of. You always set the bar high.

Much appreciated Scott, this is one of the images I captured during Matthew Studebaker’s workshop. By the way, you set the bar already!
