I am going to try a new approach to my blog entries. Instead of an in-depth, well-researched article with plenty of images and information, I am going to try the short and concise method and perhaps this will allow me to get new content to you sooner. The other news is that the template I use to create and maintain this website has new features and now there is a small icon under each image in the bottom right corner that looks like a return icon which you can click on to start a slide show and you will get a larger version of the image.
This past Saturday, I found a small flock of Cedar and Bohemian Waxwings that were feeding in an ornamental crab apple tree not far from my home. I was able to locate the waxwings due to their unique behaviour of sitting in a tall tree and taking turns flying down to the food source and back up into the tall tree. As a bonus, I was able to park on the street directly across from the tree. They weren’t bothered by my presence at all even when I walked under the tree to talk to the landowner who peeked his head out the door. He was probably wondering what this guy with the big camera was doing in front of his house. 🙂
I was with them for about an hour and I just had to wait until one landed in an appropriate perch with a pleasant background. These are 5 of my favourite images. There is a new comment option and you will see an icon at the bottom right hand corner of each image or you can make the traditional comment on the entire entry. Thanks for the visit and comments are always invited and appreciated!
