As I travel about I find myself continually scanning trees and open areas for birds or other critters for photographic subjects.
I have noticed with much dismay that the local ornamental crab apple trees that are normally loaded with fruit at this time of the year are devoid not only of fruit but also of leaves, presumably all victims of a fungal or bacterial disease.
The lack of fruit will mean that I won’t be able to photograph one of my favourite winter birds, the nomadic Bohemian Waxing, which favours all sorts of winter berries. I’ll just have to be content with the images I have already. 🙂
